  1. Jeri,
I am very intrigued by your research. I have always thought that getting students involoved makes them more engaged. They feel that they have a part in their learning. I think you will find that collabaorating with students will change thier behavior, performance, and attendance for the better.

  2. I agree with AMeza. I am also interested to see how all of this turns out. Students need to feel like they have ownership of something. It is the same with teachers, if you do it yourself it is more important to you than if someone just hands it to you. Can't wait to see what you find out.

  3. Great topic. The students will feel a sense of ownership and pride by being able to take part in collaborating with teachers on improvements and ongoings in the school.

  4. This is so well thought out that it is difficult to find any areas to modify as as you requested at our web conference. I think it is very doable and the data you uncover will be valuable. I thought carefully about your request. Then only thing that I can suggest for consideration is for you to consider meeting again with the initial teacher group near the end of the study to gain their insight on how the study has affected their prior observations or concerns. You may also consider asking some of the parents of the four focus groups to meet as well to get their perspectives on school climate. Sometimes parents may have a slightly different perspective than their children. Of course, that might not be within the scope or vision of your project.

  5. I think it will be interesting to see what your findings are throughout your research. Creating your groups of 8-10 will show a beginning connections between failure, absences, and office referrals. Obviously, some students will overlap into the different groups and some will only be in one group.

I will be looking forward to checking your research!
